Giancarlo Esposito: ‘You All Failed To Guess My ‘Captain America’ Role’

Esposito is joining the MCU in ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ but he says no one guessed his character correctly.

Giancarlo Esposito joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the upcoming movie ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ but no one has been able to guess his character correctly.

Esposito said the following at a recent convention:

“The character I’m playing is a badass. I’m not telling you who I’m playing… People are trying to guess, and no one has guessed correctly yet.”

With this statement, he debunked insider rumors that he would play G.W. Bridge, a character tied to S.H.I.E.L.D. and Cable’s Wild Pack.

You can watch his full statement below.

‘Brave New World’ Will Be a Political Action Movie

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ will follow Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) as the new Captain America. After meeting with the new U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford), Sam finds himself in the middle of an international crisis. He must uncover a global plot before it escalates.

The movie has darker tones and features a star-studded cast, including Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford. It is produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, with Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth as executive producers.

Esposito started filming his scenes after the main filming was done. The production took place in Grantville, Georgia. The reshoots lasted 22 days and included new action sequences. Esposito hinted that his role will continue in a Disney+ TV series after the movie. Some fans think it could be ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ or ‘Ironheart.’

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is set to hit U.S. theaters on February 14, 2025.
