Photographer Christopher Oquendo recently captured Giancarlo Esposito on the ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ set in Grantville, Georgia and posted it on X. Esposito’s exact role is unknown, but sources guess he plays a major villain.
‘The Boys’ actor joins Anthony Mackie for a series of reshoots although principal photography wrapped up before 2023’s Hollywood strike. Insiders report that the filming will last 22 days and include new action sequences.
Julius Onah will direct the new pages from Matthew Orton. The cast will also feature Harrison Ford, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, Danny Ramirez, and Rosa Salazar.
Esposito’s Villain May Be A Challenge For The New Captain America
‘Brave New World’ will reportedly be a darker-toned political action film for Marvel. The installment will push Mackie’s Sam Wilson to his limits, according to Nate Moore, and Esposito’s character will likely play a big part in the story.
Moore previously told ComicBook’s ‘Phase Zero’ podcast:
“I think, he’s not Steve Rogers and I think that’s a good thing. Because to me, this new Cap is Rocky. He’s going to be the underdog in any situation. He’s not a super soldier. He’s not a hundred years old. He doesn’t have the Avengers. What happens with this guy who announces publicly kind of, without the support, ‘I’m new Captain America.’ What happens next? I think is fascinating because he’s a guy. He’s a guy with wings and a shield, but he is a guy.”
The film will see release on February 14, 2025.
