Golden Globe Award-winning Lena Dunham, the creator, writer, and actress of HBO’s series ‘Girls,’ took her verified Instagram page and recommended certain podcasts with black hosts.
The independent movie, ‘Tiny Furniture’ star and creator Dunham, shared covers of the podcasts and along with them, wrote as follows:
“I want to continue to highlight the excellent podcasts put out by Black podcast creators. Here are nine more incredible pods!”
‘Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s Learned’ writer, added by introducing the podcasts in details:
“These cover subjects like how slavery transformed America in #1619, sparking conversation and activism on today’s most critical issues on #PodfortheCause, all the way to @dopequeenpheebs and @msjwilly giving us comedy in #2DopeQueens.”
Dunham, who has played as a guest actress in ‘Scandal’ and ‘The Simpsons’ stated that she aims to strengthen Black culture:
“I encourage all of you to use the podcast platform to continue to amplify Black culture in all forms.”
