Critics’ Choice Television Awards-winning star Busy Philipps found a real way of celebrating Pride Month!
On June 1, the star, who is portraying ‘Summer‘ in the fan-favorite TV series ‘Girls5Eva‘ jumped into her verified Instagram account and showed that she is a real activist for the LGBTQIA+ community. After releasing a couple of photos of herself with daughter Birdie, Philipps announced that she teamed up with The Haas Brothers and Citizens of Humanity in honor of Pride 2021.
Alongside the photos, in which she and Birdie are seen collecting some goods to donate to the centers, Philipps added a lengthy note. The ‘Dawson’s Creek‘ star began her message as follows:
“Today is the start of Pride Month! I have so much pride for this kid and everything they are and do! The t-shirt I’m wearing is by @thehaasbrothers x @citizensofhumanity in honor of Pride 2021 and 100% of the retail selling price of every t-shirt sold will be donated to LA’s LGBTQIA+ center!”
Stating that the center has been offering support and education, the actor also wrote that she is proud of her daughter who is collecting items in order to donate to the LA’s LGBTQIA+ Center. She concluded:
“Birdie decided to start gathering the unopened makeup and hygiene items from me and other influencer types (actors, singers, makeup and hair artists) to donate to the @lalgbtcenter for the queer and trans youth that the Center provides a safe space for. Well. Thanks to many of my friends, Birdie was able to donate hundreds of items to the center.”
For her considerate act, the actor received numerous positive comments from both her industry friends plus her followers on the photo-sharing platform.
