Golden Globe-winning actor and singer Darren Criss heralded that the fundraising for Alexandria House, in honor of the late ‘Glee’ star Naya Rivera, has reached $90K in just days after the related announcement.
Criss took to his verified Instagram account to deliver the good news. The Emmy winner thanked everybody for helping to honor Rivera, by donating one of her favorite non-profit organizations ahead of her birthday. In his own words:
“In just 1 week you’ve all helped raise nearly 🤩$90k🤩for @alexandriahousela in honor of our dear pal, Naya Rivera. Thank you so much for your generosity- it’s a true Snixxmas miracle! To celebrate here’s a pic of me gettin’ snixxed by the OG herself.”
Then the actor, reminded his fans and followers that just a week left to donate, and added:
“And of course, if a donation is not possible at this time, you can always donate your time to a local charity whose mission speaks to you.”
As fans might remember, the ‘Glee’ cast, including Dianna Agron, Heather Morris, Chord Overstreet, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, and Matthew Morrison, was launched the mentioned fundraiser to keep Rivera’s spirit alive, a week ago through the GoFundMe page.
The cast also released a video to announce the campaign, in which they narrated how Rivera, who was found dead in Lake Piru back in July, was helping the organization on holiday seasons. In the video, the friends of the Rivera also clarified why they had chosen Alexandria House by saying:
“Recently, Naya began working with a local non-profit in Los Angeles called Alexandria House. She not only raised and contributed funds for them, but also volunteered her time and effort to the organization.”
