Hollywood actor Zoe Saldana, best known for starring in “three of the five highest-grossing films of all time,” fired up her verified social media accounts once the news that police officers fatally shot another people of color, 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant, about minutes before Derek Chauvin‘s trial on murdering George Floyd ended.
Saldana, who is one of the dominant voices for the ‘Black Lives Matter‘ movement, took to her verified Instagram account and released a photo of Bryant; as widely known, the teenager was killed by an Ohio officer back on April 20. The death of the 16-year-old sparked an outpouring of grief; a great number of celebs went to their social media accounts and explicated the shooting as another act of racism in the United States.
One of these celebs, the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ star released the following message to react to the news:
“There are no words for this unimaginable loss. Ma’Khia Bryant was a 16 year old girl who loved doing her hair. She enjoyed doing tik tok videos. She was an honor roll student.”
Saldana concluded her message as follows and accused the police officer:
“She called the police for help. Instead of helping her, they shot her four times.”
Following the post, some of her followers asked if she watched the footage captured with the bodycam during the shooting. According to the footage released by police officials, Bryant was holding a knife in her hand and preparing for pinning another girl. However, it is questioning why the police officer did not use nonlethal force instead of murdering her.
