It looks like Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn could be the next character to get her own movie after ‘Joker: Folie À Deux.’
‘Joker: Folie À Deux’ had its Los Angeles premiere last night. It seems to close out the story of Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck, but there may still be room for Harley to return.
In an interview on the red carpet, director Todd Phillips was asked about the possibility of a Harley Quinn spin-off. He didn’t confirm anything but did hint that it’s something they have talked about. “I don’t want to go into that,” Phillips said. “It’s something we talked about… it’s something you figure out.”

‘Joker: Folie À Deux’ premiered at the Venice Film Festival earlier in the month. Lady Gaga plays Harley Quinn (called Lee Quinzel in the film), and it’s revealed that her character is pregnant with Arthur Fleck’s child. Arthur’s story might be finished, but the ending leaves Harley’s future open for more.
‘Joker: Folie À Deux’ follows Arthur as he’s institutionalized at Arkham Asylum and awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. The movie also focuses on his struggle with his dual identity and how he finds love and his passion for music.
The movie is rated R for its strong violence, language, some sexual content, and brief nudity. The cast also includes Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, and Zazie Beetz. Beetz reprises her role from the first ‘Joker’ film.
Phillips said this sequel wraps up Arthur Fleck’s story, but we might still get to see more of Gaga’s Harley Quinn in the future. Nothing is confirmed for now.
