Harrison Ford is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the upcoming movie ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’
82-year-old Ford is set to star Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross. This role was previously played by the late William Hurt. In a recent interview with GQ, Ford shared his thoughts on joining the MCU. When asked about his new role, he joked, “This is the Marvel universe, and I’m just there on a weekend pass. I’m a sailor new to this town. Show me the way to go home.”
Ford sees the MCU as a new way of telling stories on the big screen. He made it clear that he enjoys being a part of this shift. He explained, “We’re silly if we sit around regretting the change and don’t participate. I’m participating in a new part of the business that, for me at least, I think is really producing some good experiences for an audience.”
Ford was lighthearted about his MCU role, but he takes his career choices seriously. He said that the quality of the writing is what made him sign on for the Apple TV+ show ‘Shrinking.’ We don’t know how much of ‘Brave New World’ Ford knew about before joining, but it’s clear that he carefully picks his projects.
‘Captain America: Brave New World’ comes out next year.
