Actor Matthew Lewis, best known for portraying ‘Neville Longbottom‘ in the ‘Harry Potter‘ film series, took to his Instagram account on the day of the inauguration of Joe Biden and expressed that he is highly hopeful regarding the future of the United States of America.
Lewis posted a photo of himself that sees him in a shirt on which Joe Biden’s name is, in front of the United States Capitol in Washington, and stated that it was the first time he wore something with a politician’s name on. The ‘Terminal‘ star continued:
“I did wear this shirt on Election Day. Not as a Democrat, or even as a passionate Biden supporter. I wore it as a symbol of defeat for the last administration. They were anathema to me and all that I stand for.”
The ‘Me Before You’ actor, Lewis then wrote that Inauguration Day is a start to move on with a new admin, who promised to do a lot of things for the sake of the people of the United States. He went on to say:
“We cannot go back. We cannot ignore. We have an opportunity. I’ll enjoy today.”
The actor later highlighted that as American citizens they need to”have their eyes locked on the new admin to make sure they repay the faith the American people have put in them.” Adding that he believes Biden and Harris, he concluded his message as follows:
“@joebiden is a good man, full of the compassion and empathy that we’ve sorely missed these few years, and I hope he will inspire me to wear this shirt again.”
