Henry Cavill has been told he is “too old” to play Kaladin in a possible adaptation of Brandon Sanderson’s novel ‘The Stormlight Archive.’
In a new interview on his Instagram fan page @cosmere_junkie, Sanderson described a phone call he received from Cavill inquire about the role.
“When Henry Cavill called me and was like, ‘I’m too old for Kaladin, aren’t I?’ I was like, ‘Yes, and he’s also Asian,’” the author recalled.
Although both acknowledged that Cavill would not be a good fit for the role, Sanderson said he appreciated the call. “He had read the books and knew that it just wouldn’t work, but it was kind of heartbreaking when he called me,” Sanderson said. “He was like, ‘Man, I don’t think I can be Kaladin, can I?’ And I was like, ‘No, I don’t think you can be.’”
‘The Stormlight Archive’ is a series of ten high fantasy novels by American author Brandon Sanderson.
