The singer and actress Janelle Monáe wrote a touching statement through her verified Instagram page about the 23-year-old African-American Elijah McClain, who was killed by police while walking home.
The ‘Hidden Figures’ star published a series of photos, including an illustration of Elijah Mcclain, and his last words. She captioned it as follows:
“I WILL NEVER BE OVER WHAT HAPPENED TO ELIJAH MCCLAIN. I find myself emotionally debilitated and having fits of rage.”
After expressing her anger, the ‘Moonlight’ actress urged her followers to take action on this issue:
“This is triggering AND WE MUST KEEP FIGHTING. SHARE HIS STORY. CALL AND EMAIL AGAIN AND DEMAND #justiceforelijahmcclain”
