The CW unveiled the official season 5 trailer for the teen drama television series, ‘Riverdale‘ on December 9, following a long wait.
The trailer has been delivered through the official Instagram page for The CW Riverdale with the following note:
“One last dance to remember. Stream next day free only on The CW. #Riverdale”
Through the above-mentioned post, it was also announced that season 5, will premier on January 20 at 8 PM ET /9 PM CT.
Meanwhile, the screenwriter of the series, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa took to his verified Instagram account and released the trailer. Alongside the video, he wrote that the teaser is just for the last high school episodes and heralded that “much more to come.”
According to the teaser, ‘Veronica’ finally learns the things between her boyfriend ‘Archie‘ and her best friend ‘Betty‘ while ‘Ronnie’ discovers the devastating news during the prom. In the new season it seems that ‘Archie’ will be justified by saying:
“This will be the last dance we have with our friends… Can’t miss it.”
As known, the series, starring Keneti James Fitzgerald Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Marisol Nichols, Madelaine Petsch, Ashleigh Murray, and Mädchen Amick was announced to be renewed for season 5 months ago.
Following the early renewal, actor Mark Consuelos, who is portraying ‘Hermione’ in the series, said during her appearance on SiriusXM’s ‘Quarantined with Bruce:’
“Season five is graduation and then they’re going to jump cut seven years after a few episodes. Which was a decision not to stay in college. It completely foregoes the college time in the chronological order and just jumps cut. People are in their lives. Some people are in different relationships.”
Here is the trailer.
