The highly anticipated thriller ‘Songbird,’ which focuses on the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, was released December 11, 2020, by STXfilms.
The exciting news has been delivered through the official Instagram page of the film. Alongside the official trailer, the following message was released:
“It’s here! #SongbirdMovie is now available on demand everywhere.”
Meanwhile, actor Sofia Carson, who portrays one of the main characters, ‘Sara Garcia,‘ in the film, took to her verified Instagram account and shared the news with her fans and followers.
Carson, who recently appeared in the Netflix film ‘Feel the Beat,’ described the film as a modern Romeo and Juliet story, and thanked all the crew by saying that being ‘Sara’ is a gift for her. She added:
“A story of impossible love. A story of fearless hope… As our director so beautifully said, ‘Romeo and Juliet set during the greatest survival story of our time…’. From our hearts to yours, @songbirdfilm is yours.”
The film, produced by well-known filmmaker Michael Bay, stars Demi Moore (as ‘Piper Griffin’), KJ Apa (as ‘Sara’s boyfriend ‘Nico Price’), Craig Robinson (as ‘Lester’), Peter Stormare (as ‘Emmett Harland’), Alexandra Daddario (as ‘May’), Paul Walter Hauser (as ‘Michael Dozer’), and Bradley Whitford (as ‘William Griffin’).
‘Songbird,’ which is marked as the first film to start production after the shutdown due to coronavirus pandemic, was directed by Adam Mason and written by Simon Boyes.
What’s more, on its first day of release, the film, unfortunately, received generally negative reviews from viewers and critics.
Here is Carson’s post.
