Hold Onto Your Seats: ‘Tron: Ares’ Cast Upgraded By Gillian Anderson

Two-time Emmy and Golden Globe winner will share the screen with Jared Leto in Disney’s new film.

According to the news from Deadline, Gillian Anderson has recently joined the cast of ‘Tron: Ares,’ the latest movie in Disney’s ‘Tron’ series.

The details about Anderson’s character are not public yet, but she will appear alongside Jared Leto, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Greta Lee, as the film will focus on Leto’s character, Ares, who comes from a video game world to Earth.

Known for being in shows like ‘The Crown’ and ‘Sex Education,’ the actress has recently finished filming ‘Scoop,’ a movie about the 2019 BBC Newsnight interview with Prince Andrew regarding his ties with Jeffrey Epstein. In addition to ‘Tron: Ares,’ she is set to take part in the screen adaptation of Raynor Winn’s book ‘The Salt Path,’ alongside Jason Isaacs.

Details About The Upcoming Movie

Released in 1982, the first ‘Tron’ movie starring Jeff Bridges became famous for its visual effects and turned into a cult favorite. The sequel, ‘Tron: Legacy,’ came out in 2010, introducing Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde, and made more than $400 million when it was released. The third film in the franchise is expected to come out sometime in 2025.

‘Tron: Ares’ will feature actors like Evan Peters, Cameron Monaghan, and Sarah Desjardins, as well as ‘Pirate Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ and ‘Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil’ director Joachim Rønning. Emma Ludbrrok, Jeffrey Springer, and Jared Leto are the producers of the movie written by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne.
