Eight-time Emmy Award-winning actor Betty White turned 99 on January 17, and her industry friends flooded the social media to send their congratulatory messages to her.
The ‘Modern Family’ actor Jesse Tyler was one of those who were quick to mark the day: The father of one posted a photo of himself with the living legend, who has received the honorary title “Mayor of Hollywood,” and added a caption that reads:
“Happy birthday @bettymwhite! You are a hero to me in every way and I honestly can not believe I have had the honor of spending time with you. You make 99 look amazing.”
Another Hollywood actor, Rob McElhenney, best known for his portrayal of ‘Ronald “Mac” McDonald‘ on the comedy series, ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,’ also took to Instagram on White’s 99th birthday. The actor released a photo collage that includes White’s two photographs one of which is a TBT and wrote that he grew up idolizing her. He continued:
“She once said to us ‘You have such a beautiful family. The kids are fine, but what WONDERFUL dogs!’ Our love for her grows with every exchange. 🐶 🐕 🐩”
What’s more, Niecy Nash, the well-known TV personality, honored White on her birthday by posting a photo that sees her with the ‘Golden Girls‘ alum; alongside the photo, Nash shared the following note as a caption:
“99 & Fine! Happy Birthday Betty White 🎂🎂🎂”
As for comedian Fortune Feimster, who recently announced that she tied the knots with her long-time girlfriend, went to Instagram to mark the 99th birthday of the “legend.” Alongside a TBT photo taken in 2004, she told of a moment she had shared with White:
“In 2004, I was a journalist in LA and I got the chance to interview Betty on the phone and in person. At the end of the interview, she said, ‘Stay my friend,’ and I think I started crying.”
