Hollywood Pays Tribute To ‘Chicago’ Star Ann Reinking, Who Died At The Age Of 71

Broadway actor, dancer, and choreographer Ann Reinking passed away on December 12, in Washington, at the age of 71.

The devastating news was first announced by well-known dancer Christopher Dean, through his verified Facebook account. Then the family of the star confirmed the news and said the followings in a press statement:

“The world and our family have lost a vibrant, amazing talent and beautiful soul. Ann was the heart of our family and the life of the party. She was visiting our brother in Washington state when she went to sleep and never woke up. We will miss her more than we can say. Heaven has the best choreographer available now. I’m sure they are dancing up a storm up there! Annie, we will love and miss you always!!!”

Once the news spread, Hollywood stars went to their social media accounts to pay homage to the late star. Anne Hathaway, who is gearing up to appearing in an upcoming thriller ‘Lockdown,’ with Chiwetel Ejiofor, was quick to say goodbye to the Broadway legend. Hathaway posted an iconic photo of the star, recommended her fans and followers to watch ‘All That Jazz‘ for Reinking’s performance, and added:

“My bowler hat is tipped over one eye in appreciation for one of my heroes, Ann Reinking. What a magnificent talent, and how grateful I am for the impact she had on me as an artist.”

The other Hollywood star Viola Davis, who has garnered high praises for her performance in ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,’ shared a photo of Reinking on Instagram, and wrote alongside it:

“RIP #AnnReinking. Thank you for your passion and brilliance. 💛👊🏿🙏🏿”

As for filmmaker, Julia Hart took to her verified Twitter account and honored the late star by saying that nobody could move like her. She continued:

“Heartbroken that the news about Ann Reinking is true. I had the privilege of taking classes from her when I was a dancer in NY. I remember every moment of it. ALL THAT JAZZ is my favorite movie of all time. Rest in peace you singular, exquisite artist.”

What’s more, Ariana DeBose, who portrays ‘Anita’ in the well-known musical ‘The Prom‘ led a tribute to Reinking through Twitter, by writing:
