A few months ago, actor Mark Ruffalo gave an interview with Brian Tyler Cohen, during which he spoke passionately about Elon Musk.
“Elon Musk is such a two-faced turncoat traitor because he was climate champion. And he sold himself out for a buck and some power. Don’t follow that guy. That guy doesn’t even have his original accent anymore. Don’t follow him. Don’t listen to him.” Ruffalo said.
Elon Musk has often been a polarizing figure, criticized for his controversial ideas but also supported by many. Marvel star Mark Ruffalo, known for his activism in recent years, has spoken on a variety of issues, from elections to women’s rights and climate change. Naturally, Musk’s views stand in opposition to Ruffalo’s.
Ruffalo described Musk as a hypocrite and an alliance shifter. While acknowledging Musk’s past contributions to environmental causes, Ruffalo accused him of abandoning those principles for money and power. He implied that Musk is no longer even true to his roots, urging people not to trust or follow him.
Similar to the public’s view of Elon Musk, the reception to Ruffalo’s comments was mixed. While some dismissed him as crazy and urged him to stick to acting, others supported his remarks and agreed with his perspective.
Musk’s supporters argued that when a celebrity publicly criticizes someone, it often reflects poorly on the critic and makes the target appear more favorable. Conversely, Ruffalo’s supporters highlighted the validity of his points, expressing appreciation for a prominent celebrity using his platform to challenge perceived abuses of power.
