Fans of the Harry Potter series are expressing their frustration over the prices to interact with Rupert Grint, famously known for his role as Ron Weasley, at the upcoming Enter The Wizard World convention in Paris. The event is now at the center of controversy due to its high cost of attendance.
Rupert Grint, 35, is set to appear at the convention later this month. However, the cost of meeting him has raised eyebrows. As per Dailymail, one fan voiced their disappointment on the event’s official social media page, stating:
“Your prices are exorbitant. I have been a Potterhead since book one. This will be the first convention that I won’t be able to go to because I can’t afford to leave a kidney.”
On the Facebook page of Dream It Conventions, another fan wrote:
“This is why I no longer go to this type of convention. It’s already way too expensive… I had to count 500 euros for an entry and a meeting. Too many restrictions, not even the right to film a unique moment at the meetings with the actors whereas when I go to the meetings in Le Havre, they are super friendly and we can film without problem. It’s a shame to pay so much with so many restrictions. Even for the autograph stands, you have to pay again, whereas, in the store, it’s included in the price.”
How Much Is The Price To Meet Ron Weasley?
For those looking to attend the two-day event, ticket prices begin at £101. Fans wishing to capture a moment with Grint through a selfie will need to give an additional £111. Moreover, a select group of 30 people will have the exclusive opportunity to engage in a half-hour chat with the actor. This privilege comes with a hefty price tag of £298 per person.
As the Enter The Wizard World convention approaches, fans remain divided between their desire to meet their childhood idol and their concerns over the prices. With Grint’s net worth estimated at £50 million, some fans question the necessity of such high prices for a chance to interact with him.
If you still want to attend the event, it will take place on March 23 and 24.
