‘Gossip Girl’ alum Ian Somerhalder took to Instagram in order to release a piece of good news regarding the documentary ‘Kiss the Ground,’ which he executive produced.
Somerhalder uploaded a photo which includes symbols of the film awards from various festivals, and declared that the documentary, which explains how people to improve soil and food in the next two decade by taking required actions, has won over 25 Awards, including Tribeca Film Festival Official Selection, London Independent Film Festival Best Documentary, Oniros Film Festival Best Documentary, Doc La Film Festival Best Documentary and Prisma Film Festival Best Doc Feature.
‘The Vampire Diaries‘ actor continued his message by saying that the whole crew is very proud of this huge achievement. Then Somerhalder, who is also known as an ambitious environmentalist, called out the Academy voters to recognize the documentary.
“If you are an Oscar Voter OR know an Oscar Voter-please tell them how important this film is to humanity. There are a great many documentary films this year BUT make NO MISTAKE: this one of them. This FILM MATTERS. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Following the post, Somerhalder’s industry friend flooded the comment section and congratulated him; Graziela Gems wrote that the said documentary will win many more because it’s the solution to humanity’s survival.
As fans might remember, ‘Kiss the Ground,’ which can be described as a “strong climate story,” was recommended by ‘Game of Thrones’ star Jason Momoa a few weeks before. Through his verified Instagram account, Momoa wrote that the documentary literally shows how people can reverse climate change and encouraged people to watch it to know about large-scale commercial agriculture.
