Former ‘Vampire Diaries’ star Ian Somerhalder did not be indifferent to ongoing anti-Asian hate crimes.
The 42-year-old actor, who rose to fame by portraying ‘Boone Carlyle‘ in the fan-favorite drama series, ‘Lost,’ took to his verified social media accounts to call out people to say stop hate in the United States.
As known, after 8 innocent people – six of them were Asian people – were killed in Atlanta spa shootings on March 15, a great number of celebs flooded social media; as one of them, Somerhalder went to his verified Instagram account with a graphic which read “Stop Hate In America There Is No Place For It” and then a message.
The actor wrote in the caption section that he was deeply saddened by the recent news, and added:
“Stop. The. Hate. Please. This is not a path to a clear and bright future. My heart goes out the recent victims of hate in Atlanta. My heart goes out to everyone affected by hate anywhere and everywhere and anytime now or before.”
Then, the father of 1 stated that hate can be erased by parents while raising the child, by referring that hate is taught:
“It is a disease of an uncaring society. Hate is not innate: Hate is taught. Hate is taught in households and communities.”
