Ian Somerhalder Shows His Respect To Members Of Navy By Releasing An Unpublished ‘Damon Salvatore’ Photo

Ian Somerhalder amazed his fans and followers with a piece of ‘Vampire Diaries‘ vibes, a long time after talking about his groundbreaking role of ‘Damon Salvatore.’

On June 7, Somerhalder, who recently revealed that he owes all of his success and health to his actor wifey Nikki Reed, jumped into his verified Instagram account and released a photo of himself wearing a navy uniform plus a naval captain hat! Next to the photo in which he is seen in a fully white suit, the actor wrote the following message by referring to his ‘Vampire Diaries’ character:

I don’t think Damon and I ever wore this on the show but man, I would have worn it proudly. I don’t remember the storyline…”

After crediting the character ‘Damon Salvatore’ which led him to amass an incredible fortune and fame, Somerhalder thanked all of those who have served for their country, a week after Veterans Day. In his own words:

“To all those who have served in the past, present, and will serve in the future, we thank you. For your sacrifice, hard work, bravery, and ingenuity. Thank you.”

Even though the actors’ words on members of the United States Armed Forces are quite hearty, of course, the fans just pointed out part of his message regarding ‘Damon.’ A great number of users of the photo-sharing platform jumped into the comments section and stated that they are very happy to see the actor mentioning about ‘Vampire Diaries’ after so long.

It seems both TV and the audiences missed ‘Damon’ so much.
