Well-known presenter of fan-favorite TV shows such as ‘Top of the Pops,’ Fearne Cotton fired up her social media accounts in order to share a couple of details regarding the tough days she has experienced for a while and told of how she has been coping with the hardships.
On April 12, the first female presenter of the ‘Radio 1 Chart Show‘ released a mirror selfie, her eyes are wide-open while expressing her dissatisfaction, and stated that she has not been sleeping because of anxiety.
Alongside the mirror selfie that sees her in a timeworn tracksuit, Cotton stated that she “got two seconds sleep last night” and continued by opening up about the mental issues she has been suffering:
“Anxiety crept up on me as my head hit the pillow and I just couldn’t get into a deep sleep. Recently I have been sleeping so well, so last night was disappointing but I’m not going to let one bad night set me back.”
Cotton, who is also known for her self improvement books, including ‘Happy: Finding joy in every day and letting go of perfect,’ ‘Calm: Working through life’s daily stresses to find a peaceful centre’ and ‘Quiet: Silencing The brain chatter and believing you are good enough,’ stated that she does not take this hardship as a “bad thing.”
Instead of completing about sleepness and other symptoms of anxiety, she described it as a sign that she has more important work to do:
“More self-inventory, more self-compassion, it’s a life’s work. If you experience anxiety too, don’t compare yourselves to others. It’s easy to do, I know! Its easy to imagine everyone else copes just fine but it’s not helpful to use comparison in these moments.”
The ‘Interior Design Masters‘ star concluded her inspiring message by encouraging her fans and followers to be kind to themselves.
