Jon Favreau recently explained to People why everyone talks so much about Robert Downey Jr., especially after he played ‘Iron Man.’
According to Favreau, here is the reason RDJ is such a big deal:
“He has a tremendous amount of respect for the profession, and he wants to make sure that he’s doing his part. It’s game day.”
Favreau also had something to say about RDJ’s Oscar-winning performance in ‘Oppenheimer’:
“It’s nice that the sun is shining on him because it takes turns. You really get the sense that he’s putting things in perspective, and he seems to understand what this moment means.”
Imagine being so into your job that you never want to stop until it’s perfect. That’s how Downey Jr. treats his acting, and it seems Favreau admires that a lot.
Some of the Dialogs in Iron Man Were Improvised
One of the things Favreau did while making Iron Man was use the real-life banter between Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow in the movie. He said he would listen to them talk and then include some of those conversations in the film:
“I find it thoroughly compelling and entertaining to watch the two of them on screen together because they had this banter that has an edge to it. They complement each other so well. They’re so different, but yet [have] so much mutual respect and admiration. I love that.”
This means some of the fun conversations you see on screen were actually just them being themselves.
