J.K. Rowling has long been criticized for her anti-trans rhetoric. She frequently posts about this issue on her X account and even recently celebrated the anniversary of an anti-trans tweet.
Rowling shared a photo on X to mark the 23rd anniversary of her marriage to her husband. A comment came the photo:
“I hope he leaves you for a trans woman.”
Rowling responded to the comment with the following: “I just read this to Neil and he said something that made me laugh so hard I nearly coughed up a kidney.”
She added, “I’m not about to get my husband cancelled. One in the family’s enough!”
Rowling continues to face backlash for her comments.
