‘The Boys’ dove deeper into Hughie’s relationships with his father, the Supes, and Annie in Season 4. But Jack Quaid believes there are some elements that should change in the show.
“Oh, man, I kind of just want nudity to stop,” the actor recently shared at New York Comic-Con (per People). “My butt’s had a lot of screen time and it’s not a great one, you know what I mean.”
Asked if his family watched the show, he continued, “Yes, no… anything involved in my ass, I’ve just been like, ‘Can you just not watch?’ I mean, Season 3, don’t watch it. Like no one in my family should watch Season 3. My butt’s all over that thing.”
One of Quaid’s sexual episodes included a scene where Tek Knight coerced Hughie, disguised as Webweaver, into a sex dungeon. The scene drew criticism for playing sexual assault on men for laughs and making light of the issue.
Showrunner Erik Kripke later defended the moment by saying, “We view it as hilarious. Obviously, Tek Knight is our version of Batman, and we wanted to really play around with that trope: Batman’s fascist underpinnings as a really wealthy dude who hunts poor people, and then profits off the incarceration. So that was one. Tek Knight was already set up to be a freak, so we were kind of already halfway there.”
Kripke is now focused on ‘The Boys’ Season 5 production. Filming is expected to start in mid-November 2024.
