TV personality and actor Jada Pinkett Smith was quick to mark her former co-star Queen Latifah‘s 51st birthday.
On March 18, the wife of Will Smith fired up her social media platforms to mark the special day; on Instagram the actor, who is gearing up to appear as ‘Niobe’ in the fan-favorite movie franchise ‘The Matrix 4,’ posted a scene from 1997 NAACP Image Awards-nominated film ‘Set It Off‘ and showed off how long they have been friends.
As known in the crime action film written by Kate Lanier and Takashi Bufford and directed by F. Gary, the actors starred together. While Pinkett portraying ‘Lida “Stony” Newsome,’ Latifah played ‘Cleopatra “Cleo” Sims.’
Alongside the video in which the co-stars are seen in their twenties, ‘Angel Has Fallen‘ actor wrote:
“Happy Birthday to the Queen!!! It’s been some super highs and some lows over the many years of our friendship but I have always been able to count on you to show up, hold me up and fill me with patience, love and encouraging words.”
The 49-year-old actor, who captured media attention with cheating rumors, concluded her words as follows:
“I love you La! My word is bond on daaaaT! @queenlatifah”
In return, Latifah took to the comments section and wrote in short: “Thank you.”
Twenty years after the release of ‘Set It Off,’ as known, Smith and Latifah teamed up again for another project, ‘Girls Trip‘ in 2017. The film, in which the actors portrayed two best friends, grossed $140.9 million.
