James Gunn, the filmmaker best known for his superhero film and TV projects, jumped into his verified social media accounts in order to update fans and followers about what is up on the set of the highly-expected superhero series ‘Peacemaker.’
On May 8, Gunn, who has received high praises for his directing performance in the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ series, took to Instagram and released a photo of himself from the set of the ‘Peacemaker’ season 1. Along with the photo, in which he is seen looking over the storyboards, he wrote in the caption that the crew started night shoots.
The 54-year-old director, who is gearing to release the upcoming superhero film ‘The Suicide Squad‘ wrote:
“On the #Peacemaker TV series, like on every film I’ve done, I draw every shot before shooting it. Here’s me looking over the storyboards this week before we crossed them off one by one. Another week of night shoots, and then we’re back to days.”
As fans already know, the filming for the series began back in January in Vancouver, Canada under the COVID-19 restrictions; it is expected that the shooting for the series would come to an end on June 9.
The series, consisting of 8 episodes, will premiere in January 2022 through HBO Max, according to the latest announcement. Starring John Cena, Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Chris Conrad and Chukwudi Iwuji, ‘Peacemaker’ is going to focus on “a ruthless killer who believes in achieving peace at any cost.”
