Director James Gunn, who achieved great success with Guardians of the Galaxy, announced on his Instagram account that he started preparations for his new project ‘Peacemaker‘ as the shootings of his upcoming movie ‘The Suicide Squad‘ was about to end.
James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad has nothing to do with David Ayer’s Suicide Squad movie, and therefore fans have high expectations about it. The film will be broadcast simultaneously in cinemas and HBO Max on August 6, 2021, with an age limit of 18.
James Gunn is now moving on to direct Peacemaker episodes in Vancouver, which will be a spin-off series of ‘The Suicide Squad,’ based on John Cena’s Peacemaker. He announced on his Instagram account that Elizabeth Faith Ludlow and Rizwan Manji have joined the cast.
The director welcomed the actors with a throwback photo from the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 in which Elizabeth Faith Ludlow appeared as an alien. He first made the announcement as follows:
“Welcome aboard @elizabethfaithludlow & @rizwanmanji as recurring characters Keeya & Jamil on our #Peacemaker TV show for @hbomax! I’ve been working with these 2 this week & they’ve been killing it.”
Later on, Gunn shared two fun facts and the first one was about Ludlow. The director revealed that he didn’t recognize her at the first audition because he couldn’t see her face clearly with the following words:
“FUN FACT: Elizabeth was in GOTG Vol 2 but she was an alien so I didn’t recognize her when she auditioned – I didn’t know we had worked together until I cast her a 2nd time!”
The other fun fact was about the baby doll in the photo which appears in almost every movie and is used in almost every set. Gunn revealed that he used the baby dummy in ‘The Hangover‘ movie too.
“2nd FUN FACT – That baby dummy in the photo was also the baby Zach Galifianakis carried around in The Hangover (only we put makeup on it of course.)”
Following the director’s post, actress Karen Gillan wrote:
“Haha I’ve also worked with that baby!!! 🤣”
