James Gunn Sheds Tears In Touching Tribute For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 3’

One year has passed since ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ was released, and Gunn is missing the team.

James Gunn recently shared a special message to mark one year since ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ was released.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ was Gunn’s final project with Marvel Studios, and it seems he still has lots of love for the team. Gunn showed some photos from behind the scenes in his tweet. He said he’s feeling emotional thinking back on the good times they had:

“‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ was released in the US one year ago today – and I’m sitting here teary-eyed thinking about it. What a wonderful journey with wonderful people. We had each other’s backs and always will. And although, like the Guardians, some of us have gone our separate ways, the love is still there and we’re still family. Miss you all and love each of you so much it hurts.”

You can see his tweet below.

Guardians of the Galaxy Has a Future But Without Gunn

We may still see some characters from ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ in future Marvel movies. But Gunn won’t be directing them. He moved on from Marvel but made sure to leave on good terms. He said that he and Kevin Feige are still friends, and he trusts him to find the right person to direct the upcoming movies:

“Kevin and I are on great terms. Although a few characters aren’t coming back, I’d love for ‘GotG’ to continue with the current members + and I’d trust Kevin to pick the right person for that.”

Gunn is now busy working with DC Studios. His ‘Superman’ movie will come out in July 2025.
