Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx, who has been lauded for his performance in the fan-favorite animation movie, ‘Soul,’ updated his Instagram feed with a black and white TBT photo of himself with his lovely stepfather George Dixon.
The actor, who grabbed numerous accolades throughout his acting and musical career including BAFTA, Screen Actors Guild Award, Critics’ Choice Movie Award, and Golden Globe Award, added a heartfelt note alongside the photo in honor of Dixon’s birthday.
The ‘Django Unchained‘ actor began his message devoted to Dixon, who was a former educator and coach, as follows:
“Happy birthday to the man who taught me how to throw a curveball to the man who taught me how to play tennis to the man who taught me so much about life that I owe so much gratitude to…“
As he did before in multiple interviews, in his message Foxx called Dixon “father” instead of his birth father, Darrell Bishop who changed his name into Shahid Abdula after his conversion to Islam. Stating that he has been in sorrow since the day Dixon passed away, the actor concluded his message with the following words:
“You have gone through an incredible amount of pain in this past year but I hope your day today has sunlight and blue sky‘s… I love you happy happy happy birthday George Dixon my father!“
As fans might remember, in his previous interviews Foxx described Dixon as a good man and said that he saw him as a king throughout his childhood.
