Jamie Lee Curtis recently attended Comic-Con and participated in a fun game of rapid-fire questions with MTV.
When asked what phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe we are in right now, Curtis simply answered:
“Bad.”
Her response made her and her ‘Borderlands’ castmates laugh.
Other stars also joined in on the fun. Mackenzie Davis said ‘death’ when asked the same question, though she admitted she didn’t really know what a Marvel phase is. James McAvoy, known for playing Charles Xavier in the ‘X-Men’ movies, jokingly added:
“Hey, Marvel, she just terminated you.”

She Is Somewhat Right
Curtis’s answer was meant to be funny, but it does reflect some real issues Marvel is in.
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is doing great at the box office and is expected to earn over $1 billion, butĀ Marvel had a tough year in 2023. They had two big flops with ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ and ‘The Marvels.’ The latter was the lowest-grossing Marvel movie ever.
Jamie Lee Curtis had a playful rivalry with Marvel before. Her movie ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ came out in 2022 around the same time as Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’ Curtis used social media to jokingly promote her film as the better multiverse story.
She later explained that her comments were just for fun and she actually enjoys Marvel movies.
Curtis said she would join the MCU if the role was interesting. However, she doubts Marvel will offer her a role because of the playful competition she started. Curtis also joked that she wouldn’t want to act with dots all over her in a warehouse.
Jamie Lee Curtis’s next movie, ‘Borderlands,’ will be in theaters on August 9.
