One of the most-known names of Hollywood, Jamie Lee Curtis took to her verified Instagram account so as to announce a piece of great news.
The recipient of numerous acting awards, including two Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, shared a screenshot of a Variety report announcing that her production banner Comet Pictures is set to adapt ‘Kay Scarpetta‘ into miniseries. Underneath the pic of the report ‘Jamie Lee Curtis, Blumhouse Adapting Series Based on Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta Books,’ Curtis wrote the following message as a caption:
“And saving the biggest announcement for last. Often in show-off business, when it rains, it pours. The nature of this creative beast. I am beyond thrilled to help bring Kay Scarpetta into your homes with her precision, skill and wit.”
The founder of Comet Pictures continued her message as follows:
“I’m grateful that Patricia Cornwell has entrusted Kay Scarpetta to me and my team at Blumhouse. A thrilling day for me and Comet Pictures! Creativity. Commitment and Cornwell.”
As fans might remember, back in 2020, the Comet pictures teamed up with Blumhouse; according to the news obtained by DEADLINE, the two labels signed a three-year deal so as to launch films and TV shows. A year after, the exciting news that Comet Pictures secured the rights of the book series which surpass over 120 million worldwide delivered.
The release date of the one-hour crime thriller series has not been announced yet.
