The actress, author, and activist Jamie Lee Curtis shared a post through Instagram and showed up how she is supportive of female-centered stories. Curtis, released the official movie poster of ‘I Am Woman,’ the biographical film about singer Helen Reddy – the greatest icon of the 1970s feminist movement – and added a caption that read:
“One of the greatest and certainly most thrilling moments of my life was attending the @womensmarch women’s march in January 2017 with my friends and my daughter and meeting and introducing and singing alongside the legendary Helen Reddy.”
Then the 61-year-old actress, who received numerous accolades including Golden Globe, People’s Choice, and Primetime Emmy Awards throughout her acting career, call out her fans and followers to watch the mentioned movie, by writing:
“The words of her anthem and the story behind them are explored in the new movie that I urge us all to support. @iamwomanmovie @unjoomoon Remember her words for us all…”
Curtis concluded her words with the lyrics of Helen Reddy’s ‘I am Woman’ song.
‘I am Woman,’ was directed and produced by Unjoo Moon, and starred Tilda Cobham-Hervey as Helen Reddy, Danielle Macdonald as Lilian Roxon, Evan Peters as Jeff Wald, Matty Cardarople as Roy Meyer, Rita Rani Ahuja as Maree Alvarez, and Molly Broadstock as Traci.
The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2019, and it is available now to watch online.
