He will play an important role opposite Farrell, who stars as the Penguin.

As reported by Deadline, Jared Abrahamson has been confirmed to join the cast of the upcoming Max original series ‘The Penguin’ to play against Colin Farrell, who will be reprising his role as Penguin.

While details about his character remain under wraps, according to Deadline, Abrahamson will play a key recurring role in ‘The Penguin.’ Alongside Farrell, the series will also feature Cristin Milioti in the role of Sofia Falcone, with Rhenzy Feliz and Craig Walker among the cast.

Produced by Warner Bros Television and DC Studios, the show involves industry heavyweights. Executive producers include Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, Lauren LeFranc (also the showrunner), Craig Zobel (director of the first three episodes), and Bill Carraro.

‘The Penguin’ is a production under Reeves’ 6th & Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros Television.

The Premise of ‘The Penguin’

The Penguin‘ promises an in-depth look into the rise of Oswald ‘Oz’ Cobblepot, known as the Penguin, in Gotham City’s criminal underworld. The series is the brainchild of Lauren LeFranc, who serves as its showrunner.

Filming for the series began on March 1, 2023, in New York City under the working title ‘Boss,’ with Darran Tiernan as the cinematographer for the episodes directed by Zobel. Production faced challenges due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike but resumed in November 2023.

The show is set for release on the streaming service Max in late 2024. Initially planned for a mid-2024 premiere, the release was delayed due to the strike.

Abrahamson’s recent career includes performances in ‘Topside,’ ‘On the Count of Three,’ ‘Mabel,’ ‘Ramy,’ ‘Letterkenny,’ ‘God’s Time,’ and Apple TV+’s ‘The Changeling.’ As for Colin Farrell, apart from ‘The Penguin,’ he is also involved in ‘Love Child‘ and the TV series ‘Sugar.
