Jason Winston George, who is currently starring as ‘Dr. Ben Warren‘ on ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ and its spinoff ‘Station 19‘ gave a piece of bad news for the fans of the series. Through his verified Twitter account, the actor released a thread to declare that the series were halted due to concerns over the COVID-19.
George first posted a photo of himself wearing a coronavirus mask, and wrote alongside it that production for the two series were paused because of the surge in the pandemic cases in California, where the filming is taking place. The actor continued his message with the following words:
“We all need to #wearamask!! If not to protect yourself then to Protect your people. Can’t wait to get back to work with #Chandrawilson on @greysabc & @station19″
He went on saying in another tweet which includes a video of himself introducing the real health workers working on the set. The actor wrote that he felt blessed because the producers spend hundreds of thousands of dollars per episode to provide the necessary precautions against coronavirus. Stating the entire crew tested up to 3 times a week, he added:
“The only place where I feel more safe than on set is in my own home.”
In his last tweet, the actor continued to assure the fans of the series that the safety protocols were taken seriously, by saying:
“Unless you’re saving lives, no job is worth your life or risking lives of others by spreading this disease #muchlove to all #frontlineworkers who actually DO risk their lives to save others.”
When the production will restart has not been announced.
