Legendary actor and martial artist Jean-Claude Van Damme updated his Instagram feed to appreciate ‘Cobra Kai’ series on the streaming giant Netflix which is the revival of ‘The Karate Kid‘ and he praised it as one of his favorite shows.
‘Cobra Kai’ received widespread recognition around the world with its combination of modern storytelling and 80’s vibes, turning a classic movie into a hit TV show.
One of the fans of the series was the legend Jean-Claude Van Damme who took Instagram to share his happiness when he saw the footage of one of his classic movies ‘Bloodsport,’ and posted the video clip of the scene saying:
“One of my favourite shows for sure is 🐍 @cobrakaiseries I even remember how I was happy when I saw #Bloodsport footage in S2: E3 “Fire and Ice” 🔥❄️”
Later in his caption, Van Damme mentioned how ‘Bloodsport’ and ‘The Karate Kid’ movies helped to introduce the beauty and philosophy of martial arts to the audience making them incline to different sports branches, thanking also to the new generation of actors and actresses with the following words:
“🥋 Bloodsport and The Karate Kid movie series helped a lot with introducing the beauty & philosophy of martial arts to the audience, and, now thanks to @ralph_macchio @william_zabka @martinkove,”he wrote.
“and the wonderful new generation of young actors and actresses who I am proud of how they are continuing this great franchise!” he continued.
In his final words, the 60-year-old martial artist didn’t forget to pay his tribute to late Pat Morita, known as Mr. Miyagi in ‘The Karate Kid,’ stating he was very proud for co-starring alongside him in the ‘Inferno’ movie with the following words:
“💖 Also, I must mention how proud I am remembering Pat Morita ‘Mr. Miyagi’ for co-starring alongside with me in the movie #Inferno aka Desert Heat, may he RIP. 🤞 Good luck with Season 4, Oss”
