Jemima Kirke, best known for starring ‘Jessa Johansson’ on the HBO series ‘Girls,’ jumped into her verified Instagram account the other day to share her first look at Netflix’s groundbreaking series ‘Sex Education.’
Kirke, who has been set to portray the titular role ‘Melissa‘ in highly-expecting upcoming series ‘Conversations with Friends,’ based on the book of the same name by Sally Rooney, released a photo showing her new character ‘Hope Haddon,’ and added a note that reads:
“For those saying she’s got a stick up her ass, lemme tell you, Hope Haddon used to be quite the wild child back in her day.”
According to the original synopsis, ‘Hope,’ who is the new headteacher will try to “return Moordale to a pillar of excellence.” Here is the synopsis:
“It’s a new year, Otis is having casual sex, Eric and Adam are official, and Jean has a baby on the way. Meanwhile, new headteacher Hope (played by Jemima Kirke) tries to return Moordale to a pillar of excellence, Aimee discovers feminism, Jackson gets a crush and a lost voicemail still looms. Prepare for commitment animals, alien phenomena, vulva cupcakes and much more of Madam Groff.”
Even though Kirke’s fans were fascinated by the news, it was also announced that the actor, portraying a former Moordale student, will just appear as a guest star in a couple of episodes.
As fans already know, ‘Sex Education’ season 3 was announced by Netflix back in February; however, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the production to be halted. In March 2021, the filming began again and wrapped on May 5, 2021. Season 3, consisting of 8 episodes, will stream on September 17, through Netflix.
