Jenna Ortega Explains Her Concerns About Her Return To ‘Wednesday’ For Season 2

The upcoming season is currently in the works.

Jenna Ortega returned to set as Wednesday Addams in May to begin filming for ‘Wednesday’ Season 2. The actress admitted in a new chat that she was ‘terrified’ to reprise her role at first.

“I was a little terrified just because it had been years since Wednesday, since we shot the first one. We did that like two or three years ago in Romania,” Ortega recently said on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.’ “So, I didn’t really know how I… I just was, I think, overthinking it.”

She went on, “But as soon as you put on the costumes by Colleen Atwood, you get hair and makeup done, and then you take all the expression out of your face, it’s like, ‘Oh, okay. I kind of, I know how to do this. Yeah. Yeah.’”

‘Wednesday’ Season 1 premiered in November 2022, and Netflix renewed it for Season 2 a few months later. Jenna Ortega rejoined the project not just as the lead actress but also as an executive producer.

“I get to decide like how blue somebody’s gonna be, or where the brains go on the floor, what prosthetics look like,” she shared. “It’s so exciting. It’s so much fun, actually.”

The upcoming season welcomed new faces to the show, including Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, and Noah Taylor. While most of the original cast also returned, Neflix parted ways with Percy Hynes White (Xavier Thorpe) after facing sexual abuse accusations in 2023.

‘Wednesday’ Season 2 is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
