Jeremy Renner is thinking about coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’
Renner shared his thoughts during an interview with Us Weekly at San Diego Comic-Con. He seemed excited about Robert Downey Jr. returning to play Doctor Doom in the next Avengers movie. Renner even called Downey to ask if he was keeping the news a secret from them:
“I’m like, ‘What’s going on? Are you hiding this from us?’ I don’t know. That’s exciting news, man. I’m really, really excited about it.”
Renner said if Marvel asks him to return, he will try to be there. He understands it will be a big task to get all the characters together, though:
“It seems the Avenger movies have always been really fan favorites and there’s so many wonderful characters in them. I think it’s going to be challenging to get everybody together. I think they’re going to probably have to piece it together like week-by-week, just for people’s schedules.”
He thinks it might be hard to work around everyone’s schedules.
You May Not See Your Favorite Hero In The Movie
Robert Downey Jr. coming back as Doctor Doom made fans very excited. Kevin Feige told Io9 that not every character from Phase 4 will be in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ Some new heroes will be in the movie, but some favorites might not make it because of scheduling conflicts.
Feige said that they can’t fit everyone in, but it doesn’t mean those characters won’t appear in future projects:
“We’re going to tell a story in these Avengers movies, and there won’t be room for 100,000 characters in it. So choices will have to be made, that’s for sure.”
So, we will wait and see who will join the next Avengers team. The movie will likely bring together many of them, but it will be a challenge to manage all the schedules. Jeremy Renner seems to be ready to be part of the action if Marvel calls him. You can watch his interview with US Weekly below.
