Jesse Plemons Is Proud Of Fans Who Think He’s Matt Damon

Plemons thinks it’s a compliment.

Jesse Plemons often gets mistaken for Matt Damon, and he thinks it’s pretty cool.

Plemons appeared on the Today show a couple of days ago with his co-star Emma Stone to talk about their new movie, ‘Kinds of Kindness.’ During the show, host Craig Melvin said how people have been saying Plemons looks like Matt Damon for years. Plemons joked:

“Still not Matt Damon. Yeah, for a little while now I’ve been compared to him, which there are worse things to be called, for sure. It’s definitely flattering. But yeah, throughout the course of my career, I’ve had various Matt Damon-associated nicknames and such.”

Emma Stone joked about nicknames, asking Plemons if he gets called ‘Emily.’ Plemons remembered being called ‘Meth Damon’ by fans when he was on ‘Breaking Bad.’

The Comparison Follows Plemons For a Long Time

In a 2021 interview with British GQ, Plemons talked about how fewer people were calling him ‘Meth Damon’ anymore:

“I’ve noticed fewer people refer to me as Meth Damon. Maybe a few more people know my actual name.”

Guillermo Rodriguez recently mistook him for Damon’s pretend enemy on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Plemons told Kimmel that people often think he’s Damon and that it has been a bit of a joke in his life. He also shared something hilarious his aunt once told him:

“When I was younger my aunt watched ‘Good Will Hunting’ and for some reason, she told my mom ‘This is what Jesse’s going to look like when he gets old.'”

Plemons once played a young version of Matt Damon’s character in the 2000 movie ‘All the Pretty Horses’ when he was around 12. He is now starring in ‘Kinds of Kindness,’ which is coming out at UK cinemas on June 28. The movie also stars Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schaefer.
