Jessica Alba is open to reprising her Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman role from ‘Fantastic Four.’
“Yeah, of course. I loved playing that character,” the actress told People for her role in 2005’s ‘Fantastic Four’ and 2007’s ‘Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.’
She continued, “[I’d be open to] anything in the Marvel universe. I’m a fan of all the superhero stories, and it was a great time in my life. So yeah, if they would have me, sure.”
Her ‘Fantastic Four’ co-star Chris Evans returned as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch for a surprise cameo in the new ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ movie. Alba and Evans played siblings in two ‘Fantastic Four’ films, along with Ioan Gruffudd, Michael Chiklis, and Julian McMahon.
Alba talked about returning to the MCU before, too. She said in July, “I loved those movies and [it] also changed my life, that series. No one has talked to me about [a return], but I would jump at the chance. I loved that character and I felt like she was so unique in the Marvel universe at the time. There weren’t kind of female superheroes like her.”
“It’s nothing but fond memories,” Alba discussed her time working on the ‘Fantastic Four’ films with ComicBook. “I loved it so much playing that character. I feel like my whole life started in a lot of ways at that moment. I met my life partner, we’re still together, we have three kids. Tim Story, who directed, is still one of my best friends.”
The actress added, “We have New Year’s Eve together. It was great and she was such a cool, inspiring character and ahead of her time, I would say, in the genre. And still, you still haven’t seen someone who is so nurturing and feminine, but then also a fearsome bada**. I haven’t seen that combination again. And so I think she still fills this beautiful kind of space or void in the Marvel universe.”
Marvel revealed the new stars of ‘The Fantastic Four,’ and Vanessa Kirby plays the only female member, Sue Storm. Alba advised Kirby to enjoy the role and the fans. She encouraged Kirby to enjoy the experience and make the fans happy.
