Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, who has been having tough days after The Sun case, took to his verified social media accounts to announce a piece of good news.
Depp, who was asked to resign his role in ‘Fantastic Beasts’ by Warner Bros. back in November after losing the “wife-beater” case, on March 19 released the official poster of the crime film ‘City Of Lies‘ through his verified Instagram account and credited entire cast and crew.
Alongside the official release poster for the film starring Forest Whitaker, Rockmond Dunbar, Neil Brown Jr., Xander Berkeley, Shea Whigham, Wynn Everett and Toby Huss, Depp wrote the following caption:
“Thank you to Voletta Wallace and the Poole family for allowing Brad, Forest, myself and the crew to tell this timely and important story.”
By referring to the story, the actor, who is portraying a retired LAPD detective named ‘Russell Poole,’ wrote that “truth is a rare bird” and “all the more reason to search for it,” and announced the release date with these words:
“‘City of Lies’ in US theatres today. VOD on April 9th. More territories to be added soon.”
As fans might know, actually the film had its world premiere at the Noir in Festival on December 8, 2018. In 2019, the film was released in a few theaters across Italy and received mixed reviews.
Following the post, Depp’s fans flooded the caption section and stated that they are happy to see him in a movie project; what’s more, they wrote that they are supporting him in any case.
