‘Game Of Thrones’ ruled TV from 2011 to 2019 and led to the spinoff ‘House Of The Dragon,’ which also found success on HBO. The idea of a Jon Snow spinoff has been floating around since 2021, yet there’s been no solid news to cling to just yet.
While discussing his upcoming role in Netflix’s ‘3 Body Problem’ with ComicBook.com, John Bradley was asked which he thought more likely: finding aliens or reuniting with Jon Snow. His response didn’t shut down the possibility of showing up in the spinoff:
“Well, one of those things is more in my own hands than the other, I should say. But it depends what you want more. What would you prefer? I am at your service. What would you prefer?”
The actor, who left his return to the fans’ demands, added:
“I think one thing can’t be any more impossible than anything else. It’s either impossible or it isn’t though … The distance between possible and impossible is massive.”
What Do We Know About The Rumored Show?
In November 2023, HBO’s CEO Casey Bloys gave a bit of an update, mentioning that while scripts for a Jon Snow spinoff were being worked on in late 2023, the project hadn’t been officially greenlit. This means that a sequel focusing on the King in the North isn’t right around the corner, even though it was first hinted at in 2022.
Right now, aside from the upcoming second season of ‘House Of The Dragon,’ the only ‘Game Of Thrones’ spinoff looking likely is ‘A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.’ Still, the door is kept open for the Jon Snow show, as George R.R. Martin mentioned in 2022 that Kit Harington already signed on to join the creative part.
There’s talk that Kristofer Hivju and Liam Cunningham might return to their roles as Tormund Giantsbane and Lord Davos for this potential spinoff. Cunningham has said he’s up for it, though he hasn’t been officially asked yet.
