Josh Hartnett Calls His ‘Pearl Harbor’ Sex Scene With Kate Beckinsale ‘Embarrassing’

Beckinsale played the love interest for Hartnett’s Danny Walker and Ben Affleck’s Rafe McCawley.

Josh Hartnett recently revealed to Elle that his most embarrassing moment on set was filming a sex scene with Kate Beckinsale for Michael Bay’s ‘Pearl Harbor.’ He recalled:

“One of my most embarrassing is the parachute scene from ‘Pearl Harbor’ with Kate Beckinsale where we are making love in the parachute for some reason? She decided to bring her one-year-old daughter and her boyfriend to set for the first time that day.”

The actor didn’t name Beckinsale’s boyfriend, but she was dating Michael Sheen in those years. The couple had a daughter who was about one year old during the 2001 film’s production.

The War Drama’s Success

‘Pearl Harbor’ followed the love triangle between two army mates who’d been friends since childhood and a nurse in the middle of World War II.

The film became a box office success and the sixth highest-grossing film of 2001 despite negative comments from critics. It received four Academy Award nominations and won for Best Sound Editing.

Josh Hartnett is now back on screen as serial killer Cooper Adams in M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Trap.’ He previously played physicist Ernest Lawrence in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer.’
