Julia Louis-Dreyfus spoke of ‘Thunderbolts*’ in a recent chat with The New York Times. The upcoming film is more character-focused than before, according to her:
“Particularly on this film, they’re very much focused on, frankly, the human story, believe it or not. They’re trying to sort of go back to their roots, as it were. And so there’s a lot of focus on that. They’re trying to stay away from as much CGI or whatever as possible, so that the stunts are, like, everywhere. And in fact, I had to do a couple.”
Marvel gathered anti-heroes like Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh’s Black Widow, Hannah John-Kamen’s Ghost, and Wyatt Russell’s US Agent in a team to complete a government mission. Louis-Dreyfus, reportedly, already finished filming her scenes.
What’s Going To Happen In The Upcoming Film?
Industry insider Daniel Richtman recently came on social media with rumors about the film’s plot. He suggested that the story begins with Val sending Yelena Belova, US Agent, Ghost, and Taskmaster to take out a target in ‘a vault.’ The team soon finds out that the mission is a trap and decides to rebel against her.
The cast refuses to give details about the plot, but the Taskmaster actress, Olga Kurylenko, confirms that there have been changes in the project since it was first announced. Kurylenko told Screen Rant:
“Well, they changed a couple of things. [Laughs] That’s all I can say, but that also doesn’t say anything, because obviously every movie is different, and in every movie, things change. But yeah, it will be different, we’ll see. There’s nothing I can say.”
New Casting Rumors
Lewis Pullman recently replaced Steve Yeun as Sentry in the cast. There are also unconfirmed rumors that Harrison Ford joined the team as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross.
The movie is rumored to feature appearances by Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff from ‘Black Widow’ and Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster from ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp.’
‘Thunderbolts’ is set to hit theaters on May 2, 2025.
