American actress and author Julianne Moore, who received numerous accolades throughout her acting career, answered back to IndieWire‘s article that was written wrongly for getting bait.
The actress, who acted a part in a queer family drama movie, ‘The Kids Are Alright’ stated that her Variety interview was distorted. She wrote:
“I have never responded to an article before but I was so upset by how @indiewire and @zsharfmisrepresented my @variety interview the I had to respond.”
As might be known, the other day Moore spoke to Variety regarding the 10th anniversary of the movie, and the interview was published under the name of “‘The Kids Are All Right’ Turns 10: The Untold History of the Queer Family Classic.”
“What I said was that I don’t know that today we would have a totally straight cast play gay characters in a film but that I am grateful for the experiences that I have had as an actor because my job is to communicate a universality of experience to the world.”
The mentioned article was titled “Julianne Moore Reconsiders Lesbian Role in ‘Kids Are All Right’ 10 Years Later” even though she did not intend to state this idea.
However, the actress also expressed her satisfaction due to portraying ‘Jules’ in the movie:
“The idea that, rather than othering people, we are saying we are all the same. Our humanity is shared. It was a privilege and a real joy to play Jules in #thekidsarealright. With Lisa, Stu, Annette, Mark, Josh, and Mia!!!! ❤️”
