‘Kaos’ Creator Breaks Silence On Netflix Canceling The Show After First Season

Netflix canceled the Greek mythology comedy series last week.

‘Kaos’ creator Charlie Covell shared a message on Instagram, following the cancellation of the show. They wrote through production company Sisters’ page, “Of course I’m gutted not to be making more ‘Kaos,’ but I don’t want this news to overshadow what we did make.”

“I’m incredibly lucky to have worked with such an exceptionally talented cast and crew, and I’m extremely proud of our show,” the post continued. “Thank you to absolutely everybody involved: it was a Herculean team effort, and a huge privilege to work with you all.”

The contemporary re-telling of Greek and Roman mythology starred Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, who punished the god Prometheus (Stephen Dillane) by chaining him to a cliff for defying his rule.

Prometheus, in turn, sought to overthrow Zeus with the aid of three humans: Eurydice (Aurora Perrineau), Ariadne (Leila Farzad), and Caeneus (Misia Butler).

The series received mostly favorable reviews and had a 76% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but it did not manage to attract a large audience. Covell still thanked the fans for their ‘love and enthusiasm.’

Meanwhile, star Aurora Perrineau said goodbye to ‘Kaos’ with a tribute to the cast and crew, who supported her all the way. “Everyone was brilliant and uniquely themselves,” the actress noted.

“Every performance surprised and excited me. I can’t believe I got to do this with all of you. We made something weird, dark, hilarious, deranged, and absolutely tragic – something entirely human. This is a feeling I plan to take with me. Thanks for letting me be your Riddy. I had the time of my life!”

Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo served as directors for the show’s eight episodes.
