On April 16, actor Helen McCrory, best known for her roles in ‘Peaky Blinders‘ and ‘Harry Potter‘ film series, passed away at the age of 52, due to cancer, at her home in London. The devastating news was delivered by her husband Damian Lewis. The ‘Homeland‘ actor Lewis wrote on Twitter that McCory died “peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family.”
Of course, the news made her friends drown in sadness; especially numerous celebrities, from ‘Harry Potter’ author J.K. Rowling to ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight, flooded the social media in order to release their homage to the late actor.
As one of these celebrities, Hollywood actor Kate Beckinsale was quick to send her condolences to her ‘Uncovered‘ co-star. The same day, Beckinsale posted a photo of the legendary actor and stated that she was devastated by the passing of the 52-year-old actor.
Beckinsale, who previously worked with Helen McCrory, released the following note as a caption:
“Helen McCrory wore her immense talent with unparalleled grace and wit and heart. I worked with her when I was 19 and she was already one of the greatest actresses we have ever had. And kind. And naughty.And warm.”
The ‘Underworld‘ film series star concluded her emotional tribute to the actor, who lastly playing the commanding matriarch, ‘Polly Gray‘, with these words:
“The absolute best. So much love to her family and such a loss to everyone. Go well, you beautiful,brilliant soul. You will be dreadfully missed.“
As fans might know, while 19-year-old Beckinsale is portraying ‘Julia,’ the late actor is representing ‘Lola’ in the 1994 dated film directed by Jim McBride.
