Golden Globe-winning actress Kate Hudson took Instagram on June 17 and announced that she will financially support certain organizations by donating the proceeds from her brands, to be in solidarity with the Black Community.
‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ star uploaded a black & white photo of herself while wearing a t-shirt that read “together – we – change” and wrote the followings as a caption:
“Two weeks ago, we closed down our global @Fabletics business for #BlackoutTuesday. It was an opportunity to look inward, listen, reflect, and chart a course for impactful, longterm action. We activated our platform to serve as a forum—to hear each other out, gain new perspectives, and amplify Black voices. To inspire one another to take action.”
The 41-year-old actress and fashion entrepreneur added:
“Fabletics will also be a longterm source of financial support for this vital cause. As a start, we donated to several amazing organizations. We are also proud to announce that 100% of net proceeds from our Together We Change tee will go to the @NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. @NAACP_LDF, and @BlkLivesMatter.”
At the end of the caption, she called her followers to take actions to make a change:
“We know we can’t change the system on our own. It’s never been more important to come together, to work as ONE, to effect permanent change. So we invite you to stand with us, in solidarity with the Black community.
Let’s make a real difference—together. #togetherwechange #blacklivesmatter”
In return, her followers expressed their supports through comments:
“I feel everyone’s business who was destroyed during this horrific time should be helped to get back on their feet” said, Rene Smith.
“Just ordered mine. So glad you’re using your platform for change. Been a fan for a long time and I’m happy to contribute to your business and the movement!!!” added, Samantha Newman.
