Katherine Heigl’s 6 Worst Movies That Are A Waste Of Time To Watch

Since the beginning of her acting career, Katherine Heigl earned a fanbase, especially with her role in ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ Throughout the years, she appeared in many TV projects and films. But some of those works ended up on the list of worst for a few reasons.

Katherine Heigl, a familiar face in Hollywood since the early 1990s, has appeared on screen in various roles, from ‘That Night’ to ‘King Of The Hill.’ She rose to fame with her portrayal of Dr. Izzie Stevens in ABC’s ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ While the actress has also made a name in movies like ’27 Dresses’ and ‘The Ugly Truth,’ not all her projects have been successful. Some films in her portfolio didn’t really hit the mark for the audience.

6. The Ringer – IMDb: 5.8

Upon its release, ‘The Ringer’ faced criticism and controversy, with its plot centering around a man pretending to be intellectually disabled to rig the Special Olympics. While Heigl played the role of Lynn, a Special Olympics volunteer, the film’s story and the flat performance of the cast contributed to its poor reception. It’s a film that struggles to find the right balance between humor and respect, ultimately falling into the category of the actress’s less successful projects.

5. My Father The Hero – IMDb: 5.5

In ‘My Father The Hero,’ Heigl took on the role of a teenager trying to impress a local boy while on vacation with her father. The film, a remake of a French comedy, received lukewarm reactions for its plot and father-daughter dynamics. The actress’ performance, while well-received, couldn’t save the film from its subpar humor. It’s one of those early roles in Heigl’s career that didn’t quite shine.

4. Killers – IMDb: 5.4

‘Killers,’ starring Heigl alongside Ashton Kutcher, is an action-comedy that fails to get to the top. The story, revolving around a newlywed who discovers her husband is a spy, had potential but was marred by a lack of chemistry between the leads and a predictable plot. The film’s attempt to blend romance, comedy, and action fell flat, and Heigl’s performance couldn’t uplift the script.

3. Romy And Michele: In The Beginning – IMDb: 4.0

In the prequel to ‘Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion,’ Heigl faced the challenge of stepping into a role previously played by another actress. The film failed to capture the original’s charm and humor. Heigl’s portrayal of Romy was a departure from the original, and the film suffered from a weak script and poor execution.

2. Bug Buster – IMDb: 3.9

Creature-feature comedy is another low in Heigl’s career. The actress’ role as a teenager fighting mutant insects in a small town couldn’t save the film’s effects, writing, and flat humor. Some described it as a film that’s more likely to raise groans than laughs, while it stood as one of Heigl’s least memorable works.

1. Zyzzyx Rd – IMDb: 3.8

This low-budget thriller is known more for its extremely low box office earnings than its content, as it only made $30. The film featured Heigl as a Lolita-type character called Marissa. While some called the actress’ role in ‘Zyzzyx Rd’ ‘her most creative work,’ the film’s confusing plot and acting contributed to its critical and commercial failure.

Bonus: Knocked Up – IMDb: 6.9

In this 2007 comedy, Heigl played Alison Scott, an E! News journalist who got pregnant after a one-night stand with Ben Stone. While the movie got thumbs up from audiences, the actress once told Vanity Fair that she wasn’t a fan of it. She criticized ‘Knocked Up’ for its portrayal of women, describing it as sexist. As she found her character judgmental and controlling, Heigl had mixed feelings about the project and her acting.
